What's included

Every feature production teams actually need

Backups, replication, monitoring, and security are built in — not paid add-ons. The same database engines you already trust, run by engineers so you don't have to.

Automated backups & point-in-time recovery

Every cluster is backed up daily and retained for seven days. Roll your database back to any second within that window — perfect for recovering from a bad migration or an accidental DELETE.

7-day PITRDaily snapshotsOne-click restoreZero data loss target

High availability standby

The HA tier adds a hot standby node in a separate availability zone. If the primary fails, traffic switches over in seconds — no manual intervention, no downtime ticket.

Read replicas in one click

Spin up read-only replicas to offload heavy reporting queries, build search indexes, or serve traffic from a region closer to your users. Add or remove them at any time.

Encryption end-to-end

Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2+. Every cluster lives behind a private network with configurable trusted sources.

AES-256 · TLS 1.2+ · VPC isolation

Metrics & slow-query insights

Track CPU, memory, IOPS, connections, replication lag, and slow queries — all from one dashboard. Get alerted before performance issues hit production.

Granular access control

Provision per-application database users and password-rotate from the dashboard. Connection pooling included for PostgreSQL workloads.

Scale up, scale out, no downtime

Resize your cluster vertically — more vCPU, RAM, and disk — with a single click. Scale horizontally by adding standby nodes or read replicas. Migrations are online so your app stays connected.

Use cases

One database platform, every workload

From the first paying customer to scale — the same managed databases that power production at thousands of teams.

E-commerce & SaaS apps

A managed PostgreSQL or MySQL HA cluster handles orders, inventory, and tenant data with automated failover and daily backups — so a noisy migration never takes the storefront offline.

AI & vector workloads

Run pgvector on managed PostgreSQL for embedding storage, semantic search and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines. Add read replicas to keep inference queries fast.

Real-time apps & queues

Use managed Valkey for sub-millisecond caching, sessions, rate-limiting, and pub/sub. Layer in Kafka for event streaming when one queue isn't enough.

Search, logs & analytics

Power product search, log aggregation, and observability dashboards with managed OpenSearch — full-text and vector search included, with OpenSearch Dashboards out of the box.

How it works

From zero to query in three steps

No DBA required. No tickets. No paging on the weekend. Provision a production-grade database faster than you can finish a stand-up.

01

Pick your engine, tier and region

Choose PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Valkey, Kafka or OpenSearch. Pick a Starter, High Availability or Cluster tier and the datacenter closest to your application.

Single-node Starter for dev/staging · multi-AZ HA for production.

02

We provision and harden the cluster

Within minutes, your cluster is live with daily backups enabled, TLS turned on, encryption at rest, and trusted-sources access control configured.

Engine version upgrades and security patches are applied during your chosen maintenance window.

03

Connect from your app

Grab your connection string from the dashboard, add your application IP or VPC to trusted sources, and start querying. We monitor the cluster 24/7.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a managed database?

A managed database is a fully-operated database service where we provision the servers, install the engine, configure backups, monitor performance, apply security patches, and handle failover for you. You connect with a standard connection string and focus on building your application instead of running the database.

Which database engines do you support?

We offer six production-ready engines: PostgreSQL (v14, v15, v16, v17), MySQL (v8), MongoDB (v7), Valkey (v8, fully Redis OSS API-compatible), Apache Kafka (v3.8), and OpenSearch (v2). Every engine runs on the same managed control plane with backups, encryption, and monitoring included.

How do backups and point-in-time recovery work?

Every cluster is backed up automatically every day and retained for seven days. With point-in-time recovery you can restore your database to any specific second within that 7-day window — ideal for recovering from a bad migration, an accidental DELETE, or application bugs.

Do you offer high availability and automatic failover?

Yes. The High Availability tier adds a hot standby node in a separate availability zone. If the primary fails, traffic is automatically routed to the standby in seconds with no manual intervention. Read replicas can also serve as warm standbys to absorb traffic spikes.

Can I scale my database without downtime?

Yes. You can resize your cluster vertically (more vCPU, RAM, or storage) with a single click — the migration is online so your application stays connected. You can also add read replicas horizontally or upgrade from Starter to HA at any time.

How is my data secured?

All data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Every cluster lives behind a private network with configurable trusted-source access control, so only your application servers or VPC ranges can connect. Per-application database users keep credentials scoped to least privilege.

Can I migrate an existing database to your platform?

Yes. PostgreSQL and MySQL support online migration from any external source: you provide the source connection details, and we replicate the data live until you cut over. For MongoDB, Valkey, Kafka and OpenSearch, we provide standard import paths and our support team can help you plan a migration window.

Where are your datacenters located?

Our managed databases run in geographically diverse datacenters across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Pick the region closest to your application — most users see sub-1ms latency between the database and their compute instances in the same region.

How is pricing calculated?

Each cluster has a fixed monthly price based on its tier and size. Starter clusters begin at $30/month, High Availability production clusters start at $240/month, and distributed clusters (Kafka, OpenSearch) start at $180/month. Backups, monitoring, and TLS are included — there are no extra add-on fees.

Do you offer 24/7 support?

Yes. Every plan includes monitoring and incident response by our infrastructure team around the clock. High Availability and Cluster plans include priority ticket support, and dedicated/enterprise plans include direct Slack channels and a named technical contact.
