Email Hosting — Manage Mailboxes, Aliases, and Forwardings on EasyCloudify

TL;DR — EasyCloudify Email Hosting lets you add email domains, create mailboxes for your organization, and manage identities, aliases, rewrites, and forwardings — all from /cloudpanel/mailboxes.

What is EasyCloudify Email Hosting?

EasyCloudify Email Hosting is a full-featured professional email management service that lets you run email for your own domains. You can create and manage mailboxes, set up email aliases, configure forwardings, and define rewrite rules — all from your EasyCloudify dashboard at /cloudpanel/mailboxes.

Before You Start

  • You have an active Mailbox plan subscription (see Plans & Billing)
  • Your domain's MX records point to EasyCloudify (add these via DNS Management)

How to Add an Email Domain

Step 1 — Navigate to Email Hosting

In the sidebar, click Mailboxes. You land on /cloudpanel/mailboxes.

Step 2 — Click Add Domain

Click Add Domain. A form appears with:

FieldDescriptionRequired
Domain nameThe email domain to add (e.g., yourcompany.com)Yes
SubscriptionSelect your active mailbox subscription planYes

Step 3 — Submit

Click Add Domain. The domain appears in the domain selector. All mailbox operations require a selected domain.

How to Create a Mailbox

Step 1 — Select Your Domain

Use the domain selector to choose the domain for your new mailbox.

Step 2 — Click Create Mailbox

Click the Create Mailbox button. A modal opens with the following fields:

FieldDescriptionRequired
Local partThe mailbox address prefix (e.g., john for [email protected])Yes
NameDisplay name for the mailboxNo
PasswordMailbox password (or choose recovery email method)Yes
Password methodpassword (set now) or recovery_email (send setup link)Yes
Recovery emailRequired if using recovery email methodConditional

Internal onlyRestrict mailbox to internal senders onlyNo

Step 3 — Create

Click Create. The mailbox appears in the mailboxes table.

How to Manage Existing Mailboxes

The mailboxes table shows all mailboxes for the selected domain. Each row has these row actions:

  • Edit — Update display name and access permissions (IMAP, POP3, ManageSieve, send/receive)
  • Delete — Permanently remove the mailbox (requires typing "DELETE" to confirm)
  • Change Password — Set a new password (enter new password + confirm — must match)
  • View Forwardings — Manage forwardings for this mailbox

Mailbox Access Permissions (Edit Modal)

PermissionDescription
May SendAllow sending outbound email
May ReceiveAllow receiving inbound email
May Access IMAPAllow IMAP client connection
May Access POP3Allow POP3 client connection
May Access ManageSieveAllow Sieve filter management
Internal OnlyRestrict to internal mail only

Managing Aliases

Aliases are alternate addresses that deliver email to an existing mailbox. Use the Aliases tab.

  • Add — Enter local part and the destination mailbox address(es)
  • Edit — Update the alias destinations
  • Delete — Remove the alias

Managing Rewrites

Email rewrites redirect mail matching a rule pattern to new destinations. Use the Rewrites tab.

  • Add — Set a rewrite name, local part pattern, and destination address(es)

Managing Forwardings

Forwardings copy or redirect email from a mailbox to external addresses. Use the Forwardings tab.

  • Add — Enter the forwarding destination address and optional expiry date
  • Edit / Delete

Managing Identities

Identities are sender profiles associated with a mailbox. Use the Identities tab.

  • Add — Set name and local part for the sender identity
  • Edit / Delete

Troubleshooting

Issue: Cannot delete mailbox — button not responding. Why it happens: The delete confirmation modal requires you to type the word "DELETE" exactly before the deletion button activates. Fix: Type "DELETE" (all caps) in the confirmation field, then click Delete Mailbox.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many mailboxes can I create?

The number of mailboxes depends on your active Mailbox subscription plan.

Can I use a custom mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird)?

Yes. EasyCloudify Email Hosting supports IMAP and POP3 access. Use the mailbox's local part as the username and your mailbox password to configure your mail client.
